IMapS has been well received by many commercial companies and governmental bodies. Development of interactive mapping facilities at UNEP-WCMC continues to be supported by a number of organisations including the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) and the Conservation Programme of ESRI.
 

The interactive mapping site makes use of UNISYS LZW compression technology.
